Car recovery charges in Abu Dhabi depend on the location, distance, and type of vehicle. On average, a flat recovery fee is applied, with additional charges per kilometer if the towing distance exceeds the basic coverage. For an exact quote, you can contact our team anytime.

After an accident:

  • Call the police at 999 immediately.

  • Wait for the police to document the scene and issue a report.

  • Obtain the police report, as it is required for insurance claims.

  • If your car is not drivable, contact a recovery service to safely tow it.

To claim a towed vehicle, you need to:

  • Log in using UAE PASS or visit the traffic service center.

  • Submit required documents such as Emirates ID, vehicle registration, and police report (if applicable).

  • Pay all pending fines and recovery fees.

If your vehicle is impounded, you will need to pay:

  • Towing charges (around AED 500).

  • Daily storage fee (AED 20–50, depending on the vehicle type).

  • Release certificate fee (around AED 100).
The car will only be released after completing the impound period and settling all dues.

No, you should not drive your car if it has been involved in an accident and is damaged. Driving away without reporting the accident is illegal and can result in a fine of AED 500, six black points, and impoundment of your vehicle for seven days.

In Abu Dhabi, the impound fine starts at AED 100 per day for the first month, calculated from the date of impoundment. After that, it increases to AED 500 per month until the vehicle is released or auctioned. Additionally, there is a one-time AED 500 towing and transportation fee.

Fines depend on the severity of the accident:

  • Minor accidents: standard fines as per traffic law.

  • Serious accidents causing injury or death: fines are decided by the court, along with up to 23 black points and possible vehicle impoundment.
Reckless driving can also result in heavy penalties.

If you hit someone, you are legally required to stop, assist the injured, and inform the police immediately. Failing to do so is considered a serious crime under UAE Federal Traffic Law. Penalties may include fines, black points, imprisonment, and civil liability.

To avoid impound fees, you should:

  • Always follow traffic rules and speed limits.

  • Clear any pending fines on time.

  • Ensure your vehicle meets UAE safety and modification regulations.

  • Never drive recklessly or under the influence.

To release your vehicle from impound, you must:

  • Pay all traffic fines and fees.

  • Wait until the impoundment period is over.

  • Collect the release certificate from the traffic authority.

  • Contact a recovery service if you need assistance transporting your vehicle.
